Minor lines of the palmThe minor lines are important in palmistry as they provide a great deal of information when conducting a reading. The minor lines do not appear on all hands, but the more hands you read the more you will get a feel for them. |
The FingersPhalanges (singular ‘phalanx’) are the bones of the fingers and toes. Each finger has three phalanges and three external sections or segments, although I have seen some people with four. The tip of a finger represents the mind, the middle section represents the body and the bottom section represents the soul or spirit. I have read palmistry books that state the thumb has three sections, but medical dictionaries record the thumb as having just two. The thumb is classified as the first digit (finger) of the hand; its tip signifies willpower while the bottom section represents logic and common sense. |
Finger lengths and shapesThe index finger, Jupiter, should ideally reach halfway up the top section of the Saturn (middle) finger. If the Jupiter finger is long it may signify ambition, flexibility and charisma. It also means the person has managerial and leadership abilities but that they need to keep their ego in check and lead with compassion and a kind heart. Good leaders practise what they preach. If the Jupiter finger is longer than the sun (ring) finger it may mean the person is self-focused, optimistic and an inspirational leader. A longer Jupiter finger gives more strength to the thumb. |
